Fred P. Montez

Fred P. Montez, 59, of Las Cruces, died Sunday June 19, 2011. He was born Oct. 8, 1951 in Blythe, CA. to Frederico and Augustina Montes. Fred was retired from the New Mexico National Guard as a Sergeant First Class with more than 30 years of faithful service to our country. When in the service he was awarded numerous citations, medals and ribbons. He enjoyed working on the Montez Family Pecan Farm and selling his pecans at the Santa Fe Farmer's Market. Fred also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing but most of all spending time with his family. Fred will be forever missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Stella; their children Ryan and Krysta and his son Kirk and his wife Nicole; grandchildren Isaac and Joslyn; sisters Anna Fernandez and Barbara Judd and other family members. Fred was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday July 1, 2011 at the family residence. PDF Printable Version
