Fred A. Wagner

January 22, 1943 — November 17, 2009

Fred A. Wagner, 66, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009. He was born Jan. 22, 1943 in Santa Fe, NM to Louis and Margaret Quintana Wagner. Fred was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his country honorably. While in the service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He then became an Environmental Engineer working with the FAA and retiring after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, R.V's, the Las Cruces Farmers Market and watching TV. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Angelica Wagner of the family home; sons Greg Wagner of Annandale, VA and Chris Wagner and wife Sunny of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Melisa Bradee and husband Steve of Las Cruces; brothers Mike Wagner and wife Margaret of Colorado, Rick Wagner and wife Jeanette and Ralph Wagner all of California; sisters Genevieve Wagner of California, Kathy and Dee Dee Wagner both of Nevada; grandchildren Carlos, Natosh'ja, John, Jennifer and Alexander and by his great-grandchildren Zach, Victoria and Leo. Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews, cousins, son-in-law Chuck Banks and his beloved pets Tesi, Katzen, Jammer, Sparky, Sheba and Booskers. His daughter Elisabeth Banks, grandson Joshua Wagner, parents and sister Anita Wagner, preceded Fred in death. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 6 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas F. Bulger officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, Ronald McDonald House or to a local animal shelter. PDF Printable Version
