Francisca Jacques

Francisca Jacques, 93, of Mesilla Park, NM died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011. She was born Nov. 6, 1917 in Chamberino, NM to Simon and Rafaela Garcia Barrio. She was retired after many years of faithful service from the Las Cruces Public School system. She was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her grandchildren. Francisca will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons Buddy Jacques and wife Linda of Los Angeles, CA, Joe Jacquez, and Ricardo Jacquez and wife Michele Auzenne all of Las Cruces; daughter Irma Tellez and husband Ramon of Las Cruces; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Jacques was preceded in death by her loving husband Margarito Jacques and grandsons Brian Jacquez and Daniel Tellez. Francisca's family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff at Mesilla Valley Hospice, all of the friends and family that helped with her care through the years. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Sunday Feb. 13, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where her prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. Francisca's funeral mass is at 10 AM on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral with Fr. Sean Garrity as Celebrant, Rite of Committal to follow at Masonic Cemetery.
