Frances June Brewer

Frances June Brewer (Franzoy), born on December 20, 1943, on the family farm in Salem, New Mexico, to Joe and Neoma Franzoy, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on January 1, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico surrounded by her family.

 Frances grew up with her siblings: older brothers John, Gene, and Ernest, and her younger sister Judith. Her early years on the farm instilled in her a deep sense of family and resilience that guided her throughout her life.

 In her youth, Frances met Jim Brewer, the love of her life. Their marriage of 62 years was a testament to enduring love and partnership. As a devoted military wife, Frances accompanied Jim across the United States to Ayer, Massachusetts, and around the globe to places as far as Japan (where he served three tours of duty), Thailand, and Vietnam. Through every move and challenge, Frances created a home filled with love and warmth.

 Frances was a proud mother to four children: James J. Brewer (Darla), Michael W. Brewer (Cathy), Christy Bustamante (Manny), and Daniel C. Brewer. Her family grew with seven beloved grandchildren: Samantha Avalos (Enrique), Amber Chu (David), Joshua Bustamante (Erica), Richard James Brewer, Valerie Brewer, Courtney Bustamante, and Rachel Brewer. She was further blessed with five great-grandchildren: Ethan Avalos, Caleb Avalos, Noah Avalos, Kai Bustamante, and Thomas Chu.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Neoma Franzoy and five siblings: Louie Joe Franzoy, twin sisters, John Franzoy, and Gene Franzoy.

 Frances cherished her family, faith, and countless hours spent playing cards with loved ones. Her warmth and devotion left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of her family and the joy she brought to those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

 A Rosary will be held at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, New Mexico, on Monday, January 13th at 6:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at the same church on Tuesday, January 14th at 10:00 a.m., followed by the burial at the Garden of Memories in Hatch. The reception will take place after the burial. Pallbearers include sons James J. Brewer, Michael W. Brewer, Daniel C. Brewer; son-in-law Manny Bustamante; grandsons Joshua Bustamante and Richard James Brewer. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons-in-law Enrique Avalos and David Chu.
