Felicia Monique Guzman
Felicia Monique Guzman age 33 was called to her eternal resting place on Friday, December 29, 2023, at UMC, Lubbock Texas. She was born November 20, 1990. Felicia is survived by her mother Lisa Palacios and father Mike (Cindy) Guzman. Her sisters Cristina, Melissa (Antonio), Renea (Jason) and brothers Thomas, Mike ‘Mikey’ and several nieces and nephews. Her maternal grandmother Ruth Mizrahi and grandfather Peter (Kathy) Mizrahi, uncle Jerry Mizrahi and Aunt Mary Guzman Lucero. Plus, numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends. Last but definitely first in her life was her loving furbaby of 2 months El Chapo Guzman a.k.a. CeeDee.
Felicia joined sports while she was growing up such as t-ball, soccer, and volleyball to name a few and was a member of her school band. At an early age Felicia won 1st place in a bowling league, in which she was granted a scholarship to NMSU. She graduated from Mayfield High School in 2009, then went on to NMSU. One of her many passions was rock painting. Felicia was one of the founders of Painted Rocks of Las Cruces which is featured on Facebook. She had a true talent for painting rocks and enjoyed spreading them out in public for people to find them. A full-time passion was in the care of furbabies and dedicated much time in that field. She loved to bake furbaby treats for both 4 legged and for us 2 legged ones. Felicia would volunteer her time at the local Gospel Rescue Mission and was very compassionate in helping the homeless. Needless to say, Felicia was a very enthusiastic Dallas Cowboy Football fan to the max and loved sharing football insights with her dad.
Felicia was preceded in her passing on by her maternal great-grandparents Reyes and Isabel Robles, paternal grandparents Miguel Marquez Guzman and Elena Vasquez Goodwin as well as her lifelong loving furbaby Dallas.
Pastor Adam Cantu will officiate Felicia’s Celebration of Life that will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 Bowman Ave., Las Cruces. A reception will follow at Sonoma Springs Covenant Church, 3940 Sonoma Springs Ave
In honor of Felicia, feel free to come and share memories of her and to wear your favorite football team jersey as she was a big football fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
