Fay Wood

Fay Wood, 100, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on April 7 th , 2014 in Colorado Springs. Mrs. Wood was born on April 14 th , 1913 in Konawa Oklahoma to Minnie Ethel Bates and Willie Corbet Bates. Fay was a homemaker in Las Cruces. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her husband Jent Echol Wood, in 1999, her son Bobby Jent Wood in 1971, her brother Wade Bates in 1985, and her mother Minnie Bates in 1986. She is survived by her daughter Audrey Wrather (Buford)of Colorado Springs, CO, and son Jerry Wood (Peggy) of Las Cruces, NM, daughter in law Elizabeth Dolbee of Cascade, CO. Mrs. Wood has 12 Grandchildren: Cheryl Reames of Denver, CO; Deidra Sterling of Colorado Springs, CO; Lynn Wrather of Dublin, CA; Sharice Murison of Denver, Co; Laura Day of Sanger, CA; Robert Wood of Missoula, MT; Deidra Wood of Colorado Springs, CO; Jerry Wood, Jr. of Austin, Tx; John Wood of Austin, TX; April Wood of Austin, TX; Ginger Husby of Roswell, NM; Jason Wood of Dallas, TX. Mrs. Wood is also survived by many Great Grandchildren, and many more Great-Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Wood enjoyed being outdoors. She loved to go fishing, camping, hunting, and working in her garden. One of her favorite places to camp/fish was Lake Roberts in the Gila National Forest. She also enjoyed fishing at Snow, Elephant Butte, and Cuemado Lakes. Graveside services will be held Saturday April 12 th at 10:00am at Masonic Cemetery with Jeff Davis officiating.
