Fay “Lenore” Frost, age 85 passed away on July 30, 2024 in Roswell, NM. Lenore was born on February 11, 1939 in Arch, NM to Sylvester and Fay Maureen Walker. She had two brothers Nevil Ray Walker and Franklin Delano Walker; and a sister Billy Jean Jameson. The family moved to Belen, NM for Lenore’s early childhood before moving to Hatch, NM her first- grade year.
Lenore graduated from Hatch High school in 1957. After graduation she attended New Mexico State University for a year. She met her husband Glenn Frost there, and they were married May 30, 1958. The couple had three children, a son and two daughters.
In 1967 the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska where they remained until January 1979, when they moved overseas to Singapore, then Jakarta, Indonesia where Glenn’s work sent them. The summer of 1984 Glenn and Lenore returned to New Mexico. She worked as clerical secretary in insurance companies and banking. She then started as an administrative assistant for the Dean of Communications Department at New Mexico State University. She retired from there in August 2004.
Lenore enjoyed painting and did different styles, including Chinese brush painting which she learned while living in Singapore. Lenore also enjoyed gardening.
Lenore is survived by her children, son Mark Frost and daughters Lori Frost, and Gayle (Troy) Thompson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bree Eranio, Tauna (Caleb) Lieser, Tanner (Rebeka) Thompson, and Darci Thompson. Great grandchildren are Mia Thompson and Presley Thompson. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins. Lenore was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and her husband of 56 years.
Services to be held at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces on August 5, 2024 at 10:00. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery will occur at a later date.
The family wishes to thank private caretakers, Jenny, Josie, Rory, and Olga; as well as the staff at Beehive homes in Roswell for the care of their mom and grandma.
