Eugenio O. Carabajal

Eugenio O. Carabajal, 69 of Las Cruces, NM was called upon by the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at his home. He was born June 19, 1936 in Salem, New Mexico to Theodore and Refugia Carabajal. Eugenio was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Catholic Church. He retired from Dona Ana County Road Department, as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He will be remembered most by his children and grandchildren for all of his love and support. His own special humor will not be easy to forget. For a strong hand and advice on the roller coaster of life. Genio will be greatly missed by all who truly loved him, and he will always and forever be appreciated. Love you, Jefe. He is survived by four sons, Mike Montoya, his wife Nancy of Las Cruces, Eugenio "Bachie" Carabajal, his companion Akemi Robles of Las Cruces, Alfred Carabajal, his wife Erin of Las Cruces; and Ray Carabajal, his wife Veronica of Richmond, Missouri. Six daughters, Estella Carabajal, her companion Frank Flores of Las Cruces; Jean Atherton of Richmond, Missouri; Manuela Santos, her husband Joseph of Oceanside, California; Emily Marquez, her husband Ramon of Espanola, New Mexico; Cecilia Gilbert, her husband Andrew of Charleston, North Carolina; and Juana Johnson, her husband Michael of Las Cruces. One brother, Albert "Beto" Carabajal; four sisters, Rosa Rel, Delia Carabajal, Vickie Carabajal and Maria Delgado all of Las Cruces. Also surviving Eugenio are 23 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and mother of his children, Maria V. Carabajal in 1999, his parents, four brothers and three sisters. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite St. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Fr. Ricardo Hinojal O.A.R. Serving, as pallbearers will be Bachie Carabajal, Alfred Carabajal, Sean Palomo, Mike Montoya Jr., Orlando Ray Carabajal, and Patrick Amador. Honorary will be Mike Montoya Sr., Eugenio "Tre" Carabajal, Rudy Orona, Monico Carabajal, and Frank Flores. PDF Printable Version
