Esequiel Castro Jr.

Esequiel C. Castro Jr joined his beloved wife, Alicia, into the Kingdom of Heaven on December 26, 2020 at the age of 88. From his birth on March 3, 1932, in Safford, AZ to his death in Las Cruces, NM. Esequiel's priorities were always taking care of his family. He was a proud Army veteran and often shared fascinating stories of his time in Germany in the early 1950s. He married the love of his life, Alicia Castro, in 1953, and made their home in Hatch, NM, for 63 years until her passing in 2016. Esequiel was preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel and Pascuala Castro, and his sister Herminia Alvarez and is survived by his loving brother, George Castro of Gardena, CA. Esequiel leaves two sons who cherished him, David L. Castro, and Esequiel (Nunie) Castro, III and his wife Imelda, four grandchildren who adored their grandpa (David, Darren, Breanna, Kathleen), four great grandchildren who loved their grandpa "squirrel" (Darren Jr, Jace, Jett, & Desus), numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins, and friends. His family was his world, and we will miss him dearly. Due to COVID, a private graveside funeral service will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, NM.
