Erlinda Gonzales

Erlinda B. Gonzales, aged 91, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on November 4, 2024. Born on May 20, 1933, Erlinda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, cherished for her loving, caring, and humble nature.

Throughout her life, Erlinda was a pillar of strength and faith, known for her daily prayers and deep trust in God. Her home was always open, welcoming family and friends, especially on Fridays when she cooked her beloved red enchiladas. Erlinda's last employment was with Sara Lee and American Lien, contributing diligently to her community's economy.

Erlinda was a dedicated parishioner at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, where her faith played a vital role in her life and actions. Among her joys were cooking, spending time with her extensive family, indulging in cake, and occasional visits to the casino, which brought her much pleasure.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Louisa Lujan (Eddie), Linda Grace Gonzales, Esther Sedillos (Ray), and Sally Cadena; her sister, Josie B. Aguilar; grandchildren Yvonne Silva (Cesar), Shirley Aranda (Johnathan), Lisa Aparicio (Albert), Linda Duran (Frank), Gabriel Lujan, Laura Sedillos, Jose Sedillos (Iesha), Marcelino Sedillos (Samantha), Ramon Cadena (Angela), Raymundo Cadena (Breanna), Leticia Salinas (Adrian); 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Erlinda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marcelino Gonzales, her sisters, Natalia Flores, Adelina Gonzales, and Tila Gomez, and her parents, Maria and Jose Baquera.

Visitation for Erlinda will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Getz Funeral Home from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, with a Rosary at 10:00 am and mass beginning at 10:30 am to be held at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church. The burial will take place on November 27, 2024, at Hillcrest Cemetery at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will include Gabriel Lujan, Jose Sedillos, Ramon Cadena, Ismael Felix, Enrique Silva, and Isaac Silva. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marcelino Sedillos, Raymundo Cadena, Jesus Villegas, Marisa Sedillos, Isaiah Aparicio, Davina Silva, Isela Aparicio, Jasmine Sedillos, and Aedan Sedillos.

Erlinda's life was marked by her unwavering love and dedication to her family and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
