Eloisa Alvillar

Eloisa V. Alvillar was called to heaven Friday, January 31, 2025. She lived in Las Cruces, NM to the age of 81. She was born on October 10, 1943, in Chamberino, NM. 

Eloisa loved to crochet, read, and camp. She was a loving wife, mom, Grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She loved and looked after more than 30 children during her lifetime, including all 6 of her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Nana. Eloisa was a very happy and friendly person, and talked to strangers as if they were long time friends. 

Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Lucinda Valenzuela, and granddaughter, Marie Garcia. 

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, David Alvillar; daughters, Terry Gonzales (Rayo), Debbi Alvillar, and Yvonne Tellez (Jack); grandchildren, David Garcia, Melissa Hernandez (Eli), Daniel Roberts, Joshua Tellez, and Jaden Tellez; great grandchildren, Devin Hernandez and Zayne Hernandez.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Immaculate Heart Cathedral. Visitation will begin at 9:30 followed by a Rosary and a Funeral Mass. Burial mass will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. 

There are no words that can express our gratitude to Mesilla Valley Hospice during the last 3 months of Eloisa's life. We were blessed to have had Priscilla, Dashawn, and all the staff by our sides.
