Elnora A Terry

Elnora Anne (MacCord) Altman Terry, 82, of Las Cruces, NM passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. She was born on May 10, 1933 to Robert I. MacCord and Helen M. Capron MacCord in Washington, D.C., the youngest of nine children. She is survived by: Linda Goff and Sheryl King both of Las Cruces, NM; Gail Christ (David) of T or C, NM; Shirley Poe (George) of Mauerertown, Va.; Marshall Terry (Kathleen) of St. George, Utah; Clay Terry (Michelle) of Elizabeth, Co.; Elizabeth Moore (David) of Abilene, TX.; Nathan Terry of Dallas, TX.; sister Jeanne Carter of Bel Air, Md.; sister-in-law, Betsy MacCord of Midlothian, Va.; grand children, great grand children and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 of her 8 siblings and son-in-law Jim Goff, Jr. of Las Cruces. She was a member of East Mesa Baptist Church in Las Cruces for over 20 years. She loved singing in the choir and directing many of the special music programs there. She formed and directed a hand bell choir. She wrote and directed many Christmas programs for East Mesa Baptist. In the last three years she attended Mt. View Baptist Church where she wrote and directed and hand made costumes for Christmas programs. She was very proud to have been a longtime member of MENSA. At her request, cremation will take place. There will be a memorial service in her honor at East Mesa Baptist Church at 6160 Moongate Road, Las Cruces, NM, on April 9, 2016 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Pastor Rob Redlin of Mt. View Baptist Church will be officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to Mt. View Baptist Church, 705 N. Main Street, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
