Edward "Lalo" Sanchez, 77, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007. He was born January 16, 1930 in El Paso, TX to Manuel and Gregoria Hernandez Sanchez. Lalo was retired after many years of faithful service from WSMR. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons Fernando Sanchez of Las Cruces and Eddie Sanchez and wife Mickey of Dona Ana; daughters Rita Archuleta and husband Frankie of Sacramento, CA, Gloria Rocha and husband Eddie of Orangevale, CA, Bea Villegas and husband Lalo of Dona Ana and Ella Chavez and husband Louie of Westminster, CO; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 1 brother Eugene Sanchez, 2 sisters Angie Benavidez and Celia Lucero; He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lalo was preceded in death by his loving wife Emma, daughter Henrietta Lopez, grandson Tommy Sanchez and by a brother Manuel. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. Lalo's funeral mass is at 10:00 AM on Thursday Dec. 20, 2007 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
