Earl Shepard

Earl A. Shepard passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024 in Las Cruces. He was 91 years old. He was born on September 30, 1932 in Aurora, Illinois to Ralph and Marcia Shepard. Earl earned his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1974. After graduating with his degree he worked in various private sector fields.

In 1959 he married Carolyn (Borman) Shepard. He began his Civil Service career in 1964 and continued with the Government rising to the position of Comptroller of White Sands Missile Range in 1979. He retired from Civil Service in 1992.

Earl was a true renaissance man in that his fields of interest were quite varied, from his love of financial work and helping people achieve financial goals, to his love of trains and anything to do with Apple products and helping people fix their computers. He helped hundreds of people and was a tried and true friend to all he met. He will be sorely missed.

He is Preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Borman) Shepard, his baby brother Roger Shepard, his Parents, Ralph and Marcia. He is survived by son Ralph Shepard of Las Cruces, NM; brother Norman Shepard of Girard, IL; sister Sylvia Shepard Helser of Wheaton, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Per his request there will be no service and his ashes will be interned at a later date.
