Earl D. Harrison

September 1, 1931 — September 13, 2005

Earl D. Harrison, 74, of Las Cruces, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005. He was born Sept. 1, 1931 in Cleveland, Mississippi to William and Myrtle Shelton Harrison. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the U. S. Army where he served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Earl was also a member of the University Church of Christ. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughters Sandy Peugh and husband Dean of Las Cruces and Sharon Marcoux and husband Earl of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; brothers W.T. Harrison and wife Mary Jean of Tucson, AZ and George Harrison of Cleveland, MS; sister Barbara Andrews of Cleveland, MS; grandchildren Michael, Shannon, Lonnie, Ronnie, Robin, Earl, Sean, Kelly, Josh and Emilee. Many other great-grandchildren also survive him. Earl was preceded in death by his loving wife Marjorie; son Ernest Baker and daughter Dian Harding. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services are at 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 at University Church of Christ with Rev. David Harrelson and Dean Peugh officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers are going to be members of Earl's family and friends.
