Douglas G. Muller

January 31, 1942 — July 12, 2005

Douglas G. Muller, Ph.D., 63, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away July 12, 2005. He was born January 31, 1942 in Bruno, Nebraska, to Rudy and Minnie Muller. He was the president of Corridor Training Systems, Inc., in Las Cruces. He attended University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 1965, a Master of Science in experimental psychology in 1968, and a Doctor of Philosophy in psychological foundations of education in 1969. Doug was a professor in the Counseling and Educational Psychology department at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces from 1968-1987, where he taught graduate courses in statistics, research design, test construction, psycho-educational assessment, computer applications, classroom management, self-concept and human development. His favorite aspect of teaching was working with doctorate students on their research projects and dissertations. He and his wife Ann founded Corridor Training Systems, Inc., in 1970. In 1988, he put full-time effort into building the business, which provides consulting and evaluation services to schools, social service agencies, the military, and industry. He has left behind a legacy of knowledge, skills, and desire, and has built the capacity for his staff to continue his work and realize his vision of improving education systems in New Mexico, Arizona, and beyond. Dr. Muller is survived by his wife Ann and daughter Elizabeth of Las Cruces; son Tim and his wife Anita of Albuquerque; granddaughter Naomi of Albuquerque; step-grandson Jason Baca of Albuquerque; step-granddaughter Vanessa Baca and her daughter Alana of Albuquerque; and sisters Narasonia Spatz and Dorothy Arensdorf of Albuquerque. His was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service's will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 29, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home.
