Dorothy L. Hatch Profile Photo

Our mother Dorothy went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 3, 2010. Her life began in Youngsville, NM where she was born on Nov. 17, 1935. She graduated Vale Victorian of her class. She then went on to marry her husband Donald Hatch. They settled in Las Cruces where they opened and operated Southwest Distributing Company. She became very active in the community. She was very much involved in orchestrating the Miss New Mexico Pageants and was the first women to become President of the Chamber of Commerce. She loved to travel and never said no to an adventure or a good margarita, especially at Martino's in Juarez. She lived her life with such courage, strength and passion. Her greatest passion of all was for her family, friends and the faith she carried with her daily, thanking her heavenly father for all the blessings in her life. We will miss her dearly and she will be cherished in our hearts forever. Dorothy is survived by her four children Harry Hatch and wife Maria of Las Cruces, Donna Siedow and husband Jon of Galveston, TX, Dana Williams and husband Mark of Ruidoso, NM and Becky Hatch of Las Cruces; brothers Leroy Cohn of Silver City, NM and Johnny Cohn of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Lauren, Derek, Marcus, Sam and Justin and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her loving son Donald John Hatch and sisters Flora and Lucy preceded her in death. A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Gilliand of Church Out of Church in Ruidoso, NM officiating.
