Dorothy L. Cogdill

April 28, 1921 — November 15, 2006

Dortha (Dorothy) L. Cogdill went to be with her lord on November 15, 2006. She was born April, 28 1921 in Mineral Wells, TX to William Roy and Myrtle Stubblefield. She graduated from El Paso High School in 1938. She attended Texas Western College where she was a Pre-med student. Dorothy worked as an accountant in the Las Cruces area until her retirement in 1986. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years John (Pepa) Cogdill, son Jon (Mickey) Cogdill, daughter Linda Lovin, brother Kenneth Stubblefield, sister Duffey Morris, granddaughter Marti Lynne Aaron, and great-grandson Kurtis Tylor Jarvis. Survivors include siblings Jackie Ball of El Paso, TX and Douglas Stubblefield and his wife Francis of Tularosa, NM. Children William (Donnie) and Michelle Cogdill of Las Cruces, Debi and Kenny Bates of Las Cruces and Barbara and David Aaron of Hobbs, NM. Grandchildren Charlie and Tracy Cogdill, Bonnie Eaton, Jeannie Cogdill, Jason and Delia Cogdill, Lisa and Daryll Agan, Susan and Stan Jordan, Michael and Debbie Lovin, Kristi and Bryan Hays, John Cogdill, Michael Cogdill, Katelynn and Kayleigh Bolin, Billy and Angie Jarvis and Kayla Aaron and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to extended family and friends, Marsha Caley, Fred and Jeannine Schneider, Karen and Wayne Unruh and Rhonda Berryman. Mema, as she was affectionately known to her family and many friends, has touched the lives of all those that had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved seeing the sun rise with a good cup of coffee and watching the hummingbirds. Memories of Mema will be cherished and she will be greatly missed. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, November 17, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. Cremation will take place and a Memorial Funeral Service will be at 10 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Burial of her cremains will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. Frank Zamora. PDF Printable Version
