Dora E. Sambrano

Dora Estrada Sambrano, 83, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on March 15, 2012. Dora was born on April 26, 1928 to Avelina and Julian Estrada in Norwalk, CA. She grew up in Lordsburg, NM and married Jesus P. Sambrano in 1946. Lordsburg was their home for many years until they moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1960. Dora was a homemaker who took pride in raising their six children. She was an avid gardener and our family remembers with fondness Mom's love of plants and flowers, especially roses. Dora was preceded in death by Jesus, her loving husband of 65 years at the time of his death in June 2011, her parents Julian and Avelina Estrada, brother Joe Estrada, sister Frida Noce, and granddaughter Andrea Almanzar. Dora is survived by her loving children Irene Villegas, Juliet Almanzar, Elizabeth Rivera, Sammy Sambrano and wife JoAnn, Ronnie Sambrano and wife Josie, and Daniel Sambrano and wife Melissa. Other surviving family members include her sister Carmen Ortega of Tucson, AZ, brother Arturo Estrada and wife Estella of Lordsburg, NM, and sister Anita Hernandez and husband Al of Las Cruces, NM. Dora lived to see 5 generations that includes 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins are also left to mourn her passing. As our mother wished, she will be cremated and her cremains will be placed with her husband in Lordsburg, NM. Condolences welcome at the family home.
