Dickey Bombach

November 11, 1936 — December 3, 2022

Richard (Dickie) Bombach, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley, passed away 12/3/22 surrounded by his family.



Richard is survived by his children Cynthia Poor (Kenneth), Peggy Smith, and grandson Jason Smith (Jacqueline), step-grandsons Kenny Poor (Liz) and Greg Poor (Kassi). He is also survived by his sisters Dolores Snow (Glen), Marion Barboa (Jake), and Margaret Warren (Homer), many beloved nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren, and his beloved friend Mary (Ginger) Schettler. Richard is preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy), his parents Romanj and Aurora Biel Bombach, his brother Patrick, and his brother-in-laws Glen and Jake.



For more than sixty years, Dick had a successful and rewarding career in building material sales. He was a hard worker who specialized in multi-family and commercial construction across West Texas, New Mexico, and Southern Colorado. He retired from Woodward Lumber Co. After 32 years of service, from Foxworth-Galbraith after 28 years, and finally from BMC Building Materials at the age of 84. Richard enjoyed the life-long friendships of so many people throughout his lifetime.



His family would like to express their sincere appreciation to his Oncologist, Dr. Raja, and his staff, and to Sierra Healthcare and Hospice, especially his nurse Jason. Grave side services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery at 10:00am Tuesday December 20, 2022. A memorial luncheon will follow the burial service at The Grapevine Event Center, 3900 West Picacho Ave. Arrangements are by Getz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society, to your favorite charity, or plant a tree through the Getz website.
