Destinie Angela Martinez

December 7, 1999 — November 5, 2007

The Lord has taken a perfect little angel, Destinie Angela Martinez, 7, to her place in Heaven, Monday November 5, 2007. She will join her grandfather; Jerry Martinez, and her grandmother; Virginia Singh. Destinie was born December 7, 1999 to Candi Martinez and Henry Martinez. She was easily loved and loved everyone. Destinie had a big heart. She enjoyed playing with her cat Ashes, playing kickball, ridding her bike, singing all the songs louder than the radio and also dancing her heart away. Destinie was a student at Dona Ana Elementary. She loved life and wanted to be a Doctor to take care of everyone. She was a great and strong baby that would never give up on anything. She set high goals and was an artist to be. Destinie was very out going and loved playing with her friends, she was a "Tom Boy" and enjoyed getting bugs and critters in the "Jungle" with her favorite cuzin Albert. She loved being like the boys. She is missed greatly but we will meet again in the heavens above. She is survived by her mother, Candi Martinez; grandpa, Herman Singh; auntie, Selina Munoz and uncle, Lupe Munoz; cousins, Anai and Joaquin Munoz; nina, Veronica Singh and nino, Alvino Chacon; auntie, Juliette Singh and uncle, Isreal Tafoya who she loved very much, all of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by her father, Henry Martinez; great grandmothers, Ventura Hernandez and Inez Martinez; grandma, Elva Martinez; uncle, Jerry Martinez Jr. wife Diana and cousins Isaiah, Alexis, and Mariah Martinez; and uncle, Michael Martinez all of Las Cruces, NM. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday October 8, 2007 with a prayer vigil to follow at 7 pm at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be given Friday October 9, 2007 at the Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana. The rite of committal will follow at the Dona Ana Cemetery. Officiating will be Fr. Miguel Macaya. Pallbearers will be Lupe Munoz, Joaquin Munoz, Isreal Tafoya, Alvino Chacon, Jerry Martinez and Micheal Martinez. Honorary pallbearer will be Herman Singh. PDF Printable Version
