Dennis John Dailey, 76, suddenly passed away on Sept. 5, 2018, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born On August 18, 1942, to Ulis And Doris Dailey, in Chicago, Illinois. His parents preceded him in death! He grew up in a basement apartment only seeing the lower half of legs for the first 9 years Of his life. I believe this is why he loved shoes and feet so much!!! Next was moving to Salina, Ks. where he learned defense at the young age of 9. Being the new kid on the block, he had to "Prove" himself. I believe this benefitted him later in life. Dennis had 2 former wives, Dianne Malson (Doug) and Joanna. He married Esther Grace Clark, April 21, 1990, after a 10-year courtship, in Fontana, Ca. Dennis graduated from Salina High School in 1960, then enlisted into the United States Air Force, where he served for 4.5 years. He remained close to his Soldier brother, Walt " Plank" till the end. He added education at community colleges in Ca. He became a law enforcement officer and retired after 31 years of service for the State of Ca. That street fighting from age 9, was the base of his training for He remained close to special comrades, Ed Voveris and Henry Richard to share crazy stories from work! Dennis favorite thing to do in retirement is read, watch movies and take Max, our faithful rescue for walks. Max is suffering a broken heart and such confusion at this time. Dennis has one son, Douglas John (Dawn) Dailey from Yuba City, Ca. 3 stepdaughters, Shelly of Bakersfield, Ca., Ronda from Victorville, California, And Tina from Warrenton, Virginia. 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a slew of nieces and nephews. An adopted daughter, Christina ( Joanna) passed away at the young age of 31. A Private service for scattering his ashes will be in Yuba City, CA. At a later date.
