Deborah Helen Hooper-Roach age 87 sunrise September 6, 1922, sunset March 11, 2010. Deborah was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, where she attended school. She relocated to Paterson, New Jersey in her early twenties, where she met and later married her loving husband Leroy Roach. Of that union they had four children Leona Patricia Roach-Davis of NM, Gwendolyn Elaine Roach-Jenkins of NJ and she was precede into eternal rest by her two sons Lee Edward "Butch" Roach and Ronald Roach. Mrs. Roach worked for the New York-New Jersey Port Authority as a supervising toll collector and retired June 23, 1984 after twenty years of service. Mrs. Roach was an active member of Greater St. John Church of God in Christ where she was on the Mother's Board. She leaves to cherish her memory thirteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives, friends and neighbors who will miss her absences and warm embraces. Her Wake will be from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Greater St. John Church of God in Christ, 1615 N. Mesquite St. Las Cruces, NM. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life and home going on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 pm also at Greater St. John Church of God in Christ. Officiating will be Elder Cleo Bell. Immediately following the celebration, she will be interred at her final resting place, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
