Darnell Fields

Darnell Fields, 73 of Garfield, NM died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 22, 1937 in Castle City, Oklahoma to Lincey and Effie Fields. Darnell had been a resident of the area since he was 12. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Kathleen Glasson of Garfield, NM; and ten children, Ofelia Holguin of Garfield; Martha Torres of Garfield; Darnell "Mano" Fields of Hatch; Irma Ronquillo of Bennett, Colorado; Felipe Ramos of Las Cruces; Michael Ramos of Hatch; Inez Cavezos of Phoenix, AZ; Lorenzo Ramos of Tor C, NM; Enrique Ramos of Hatch; and Rosa Jimenez of Kansas. Also surviving are two brothers, Moses Fields of New Jersey and Leo Fields, "Sparky" of Tucson, AZ; 33 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Francis Arrwood; a brother, Johnny Fields and his ex-wife, Maria "Martha" Fields Munoz. At Darnell's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 10 am on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Church of God, 406 Franklin Street in Hatch, NM. Officiating will be Pastor Manuel Torres, Sr. Darnell's ashes will be interred at Garden of Memories Cemetery immediately following the service. PDF Printable Version
