Daniel Robert Quirico

DANIEL ROBERT QUIRICO, 73 of Las Cruces, NM, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2006 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Pueblo, CO September 1, 1933 to Dan and Jennie Quirico. Daniel accomplished many things in his lifetime. He was involved in produce his entire life, a retired teacher, cattle rancher, truck driver and truck and produce broker. One of his favorite annual events was The Pumpkin Patch, that he started 17 years ago, that has been in the Mesilla Valley Mall for the last several years. Daniel had several friends that he loved who became family to him. Among those were Aurelio Alvarez, Fred Horner, Gene Killam, Bud Deerman, Dave Melton, and others, too numerous to name. Daniel was involved in numerous activities including the New Mexico Vintage Iron, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Lion's Club, numerous classic car and antique tractor shows and president of "The Coffee Club". Daniel also attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Daniel was survived by his loving wife Jane of the family home, his children Danny (Bobbi) Quirico of Las Cruces, NM daughter Becky Quirico of Pueblo, CO, grandchildren Larry (Brynn) Quirico, Jessica Quirico, Joseph Quirico and great-grandson Colton. Also survived by stepchildren Casey (Celeste) Smith of Fayetteville NC and Sherry Smith of Denver CO. His sisters Dorothy and Alice Quirico of Littleton, CO, Caroline (Jack) Sikes of Pueblo, CO and Evelyn (Jerry) Rockett of Lonetree, CO, one aunt Jennie Porco of Pueblo, CO and numerous nephews, nieces and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Jennie Quirico, sister Rosemarie Buffalo and brother-in-law Joe Buffalo, and numerous aunts and uncles. A visitation for Daniel will be held at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7PM on Sunday November 12, 2006. A Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Monday November 13, 2006 in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel.
