Daniel Aron Stanton (85) of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2021. Dan was born on April 25, 1936, in Beckley (Eccles), West Virginia. He volunteered for the US Army during the Korean War and later flew F86 fighter jets for the US Airforce before transitioning to the US Army as an infantry and artillery officer. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. In his civilian career he spent decades as an attorney, a police officer and a private investigator. His passion was flying, and in his free time he served as a Lieutenant Colonel and squadron commander in the Civil Air Patrol. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine Louise Anderson and Oscar Adrian Stanton, and is survived by his Wife, Tarcila Villar-Stanton, and his children: David, Becky, Paul, Matt, Logan, Kelly, Shannon, Sydney and Robbi. A memorial service was held with immediate family on July 29th, 2021, and he will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Service Information
