Daniel A. Sanchez

Daniel A. (Danny) Sanchez, 54, of Anthony, NM passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005. He was born Feb. 27, 1951 in Anthony, NM to Ray and Susana Archuleta Sanchez. Danny had been a Detention Officer with the Dona Ana County Detention Center. He had a passion for music, dancing and was the life of a party. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Nadine Sanchez of the family home; daughter Melinda Sanchez Gamboa and her husband Ramiro Gamboa Jr. of Las Cruces; son Michael Betancourt of El Paso, TX; parents Ray and Susana Sanchez of Anthony, NM; brothers Richard Sanchez, Robert Sanchez and wife Gloria and David Sanchez and wife Maria; sisters Rose Mary Alvarado and husband Daniel Sr, Dolores Sanchez Escobedo and husband Fernando, Susana Sanchez, Christine Ruiz and husband Frank, Erlinda King and husband Gottrell, Priscilla Sanchez and Elisa Sanchez; grandchildren Tiara, Jordan and Kenae Gamboa. Danny is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother Ray Sanchez Jr preceded him in death. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, NM. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Richard, David and Andrew Sanchez, Paco Luna, Rick Sena, Daniel Alvarado Jr. and Ramiro Gamboa Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fernando Escobedo Sr, Fernando Escobedo Jr, Frank Ruiz, Daniel Alvarado Sr, Gottrell King and Edward Lopez.
