Cristi Heather Cogdill

 Though she will remain forever in the hearts of so many, Cristi Heather Cogdill left us on September 1, 2024. She was born on April 12, 1985 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Theresa Wilson and Walter Cossette. She was blessed to later be chosen as a daughter by Jon (Charlie) Cogdill. Cristi was a loved and cherished momma, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, friend,and teacher. She loved her two daughters fiercely and beyond measure, and loved her family with every beautiful piece of her heart. There was nothing she wanted more than to make her loved ones happy. Cristi always knew that there was more to this world than what the rest of us saw on the surface. She saw promise in every glimmering light, and she showed her girls how to do the same. She brought joy and laughter, and love, into the lives of so many, and was able to share that in her job as a teaching assistant. In that capacity, she shared her light with so many students, and they, in turn, adored her. Those who knew Cristi knew her as the girl who always had a smile on her face, and that is a legacy of which she can be so proud. Cristi is survived by her two beautiful daughters, Chloé Annabelle Collins and Charlize Marie Collins, as well as her parents, Jon Cogdill and Theresa Wilson; her brother, Justin Cogdill (and Rubi Avalos); sister, Jenna Chester (and Douglas Chester); nephews Hunter, Sawyer and Tyler; Walter, Donna and Ryan Cossette; as well as her uncles, aunts and cousins, all of whom she loved very much. She was preceded in passing by her favorite Granny and sisters, Jaymee Fiskum and Melissa Cossette, along with many others she loved dearly. Services will be September 20, 2024 at 3pm at Getz Funeral Home. All are invited to wear a little orange, her favorite color, to celebrate her.
