Claudina Tarin

June 17, 1927 — May 16, 2021

It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce Claudina "Kivi" C. Tarin has fallen asleep in death. As a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and active Jehovah's Witness, Claudina's love of life and cherished hope for the future do not end with her death. Claudina was born June 17, 1927 and passed on May 16, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. With the family's deep gratitude, she passed peacefully in her sleep in the care of Beverley LeBlanc and Donnavee Thomas. Claudina was born in the village of Placitas, NM to Hugo Carreras and Petra Provencio Carreras. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Richard Carreras, sister Nelly Atencio and her youngest son, Edward "Eddie" C. Tarin. She is survived by her children, daughter Claudine "Nina" Arellano, sons Jose "Pepe" C. Tarin, Thomas "Tommy" C. Tarin, and David "Davey" C. Tarin as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. Claudina attended and graduated from Dona Ana Community College with her Associates in Business Retail and Marketing. In addition to her fine qualities and loving demeanor, she was known for her style and grace. Remembering Claudina means remembering her forgiving attitude and living with the intention of always seeing the best in people. With in the community, Claudina was known as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, taking every opportunity to share Bible truths and comfort from the scriptures. If you asked Claudina, her strength and peace came from serving her God and teaching others about him. She would make you smile as she recounted stories of her childhood and her memories of being a mother and grandmother. She also gained much joy and satisfaction in cooking for others and sharing in conversation and laughter. Claudina believed in beauty in all things, including food.
