Clara B. Chavez

Clara B. Chavez, 73, of Las Cruces died Tuesday March 29, 2011. She was born Jan. 10, 1938 in Philadelphia to Charles and Edna Archibald Barton. Clara was a member of the "Mini Mafia" in Philadelphia, but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband Paul Chavez of T or C, NM; son Anthony Chavez of Huntington, PA and daughter Edna Chavez of Las Cruces; brother George Tate and wife Lucy, sister Helen Voth and husband Peter and sister-in-law Veronica Barton. Also surviving her are grandchildren Steven, Jason and Timothy and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth and brother Charles. At her request cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
