Carmen Gonzalez

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carmen A. Gonzalez, a beloved family matriarch and cherished friend, who left us on August 11, 2024, at the age of 86 in Las Cruces, NM. Born on July 25, 1938, in Las Cruces, NM, she lived a life marked by generosity, love, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

Carmen Gonzalez was a beacon of beauty, both inside and out. She was endlessly kind and giving, always the first to offer help or a kind word. Her commitment to her faith was steadfast, attending Mass regularly with a joyful heart. She took immense pride in her family and was the custodian of many cherished traditions, which she passed down with love and care. Her wish was for these traditions to live on, strengthening the family bond through generations. She had an exceptional talent in the kitchen, often delighting family and friends with her delicious recipes and sumptuous dinners. She took immense pride in bringing people together, creating unforgettable memories during the holidays and every special occasion.

Her strength and support were the foundation of our family. She was not just a mother and grandmother; she was a guide, confidante, and an inspiration. Her legacy of love and unity will forever resonate in the lives of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Juanita Ortega and husband Carlos Gonzalez. She leaves behind her children Teresa Gonzalez, Beatrice Bernal, Carlos Jr. Gonzalez, Angela Lopez, and Joseph Gonzalez. Her legacy lives on through her 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 28th at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held the following day at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary followed by burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
