Candelaria H. Asebez

February 2, 1916 — April 5, 2011

Candelaria H. Asebez, 95, of Las Cruces, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Lala, as she was fondly known, was born Feb. 2, 1916 in Berino, NM to Pablo and Concepcion Hernandez Asebez. She was retired after 31 years of faithful service from Memorial Medical Center. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and working outdoors in her garden but her passion was for her family. Lala will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two brothers Guillermo "Willie" M. Aceves and wife Genevieve of Las Cruces and Raymundo Acebez and wife Mary of Westminster, CA; sister Lupe Sanchez of Las Cruces and by her nephew and care taker Ben Aceves. Also surviving her are numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Lala was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Daniel Asebez, Valentin and Pablo Aceves and by sister Amalia Asebez, also nephews Billy and Michael Aceves and Raymundo Acebez, Jr. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 6 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Tuesday April 12, 2011 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church with the Augustinian Recollects officiating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. The honor of being pallbearers will be members of Ms. Asebez's family PDF Printable Version
