On May 30, 2024 our loving daughter, sister, aunt, life-partner, cousin and friend went for her last ride on the Rainbow Road.
Caitlyn Rose Curtis was born on August 28, 1990, to Bill Curtis and Carroll Warren Curtis. She graduated from Mayfield High School in 2008. During her early school years, she was active in 4H, caring for and showing animals, which she had a deep love and compassion for. She also enjoyed competing in baking contests.
At the time of her death, she had found her niche and was close to completing a degree in Electronics and Data Analysis.
Caitlyn began racing motorcycles at a young age and was a fierce competitor in women’s desert racing class, always finishing near or at the top. She was naturally skilled and competitive at just about anything with wheels. She lived her life full throttle and challenged everyone to try their best and live at their full potential.
Other favorite activities of hers included snow skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, and longboarding. She was very interested in educating herself and others about politics, and her wit and sense of humor were very impressive. Auntie Cait loved and was passionate about not only her niece and nephew but all the Warren children, too. Another passion was teaching science with her dad, teaching youth rocket propulsion and launches.
She is survived by her parents, her brother Chase (Stacy) Curtis, nephew Bo Curtis, niece Michaella Curtis, her life-partner Alexis Harris, Uncles Danny (Lisa) Warren and Bob (Mary) Curtis, Aunts Dee (Willy) Mueller, Oriol (Harold) Madron, and Betty Dutchover, and numerous loving cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Bess Warren, Durwood and Phyllis Curtis, her brother Clay Curtis, Aunt Betty Jo Getz, Uncle Jimmy Warren, and cousins Steven Getz and Rylei Getz.
Visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6th, from 5-7 PM.
A celebration of Caitlyn’s life will be held on Friday, June 7th, at 11 AM at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum. Cremation will take place, and a private burial will be at a later date.
Caitlyn lived a vibrant and bright life, so join us in wearing bright colors in honor of her.
