Billy D. Roark, 76, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, May 22, 2008. He was born Sept. 2, 1931 in Clovis, NM to H. Dean and Eleanor Burns Roark. Billy had served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was better known around the Mesilla Valley as the owner/operator of Roark Chevrolet-Olds. After selling the dealership he went on to serve the people of Dona Ana County with the Western Bank. He was a member of First Baptist Church, enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, his bible studies but his passion was for vintage cars. Mr. Roark will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Mary Roark of the family home; sons Dana Roark and wife Diane of Katy, TX and Cory Roark and wife Casey of Sand Springs, OK. Also surviving him are his five grandchildren Heidi, Curtis, Eric, Kelsey and Morgan and by his twin great-granddaughters Mackenzie and Alexis. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Billy's family and friends.
