Betty Louise Cotton, 65, died May 13, 2009 at her home in Las Cruces, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born on June 28, 1943 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was a beautiful person with the kindest heart. She loved spending time with her husband, kids, grandchildren and her puppies. She enjoyed working in her yard and sharing the pictures of her flowers that her husband took for her. She always looked forward to her weekly breakfast get together with her closest friends and daughters. It was Betty's undying faith in our Lord Jesus Christ that gave her comfort and strength to battle her illness. Her favorite time with her family was to gather around her bed and say a nightly prayer and read scriptures to her. Her faith was a testimony to her family and friends. Betty is survived by her husband, Arthur, and four children, Randy (Mary) of Denver; Tina DeMartino; Charles (Bernadine); and Candy Cotton-Cosper (Dan) all of Las Cruces. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren (Darren, Jolene, Jeremy, Randy, Amanda, Alisha, Derek, Ryan, Tyler, Amber, and Brittanie); two great-grandchildren; one brother Ronald Ricks; two aunts; many nieces, nephews and friends who all loved her dearly and will never stop missing her. Betty has now been reunited in Heaven with her father, Charles Ricks, her mother, Irene (Gitchell) Ricks; brother, Johnny; and sister, Shirley Booth. A memorial service to honor the life of Betty we be held Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 3 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 Locust St. in Las Cruces, followed by burial at Masonic Cemetery.
