Betty Jean Rodriguez

November 22, 1943 — April 2, 2019

Betty Jean Rodriguez went to her Heavenly home on April 2, 2019. Betty Jean was born in Alamogordo, NM, on November 22, 1943. Betty Jean was a very talented woman and excelled in the field of engineering, specifically in the Star Wars Defense Program at White Sands Missile Range, where she held a leadership position. She was the only woman engineer to attend an Engineering Symposium in Oregon. Betty Jean also served as a teacher in El Paso, San Antonio, Roswell and Alamogordo. Her compassion and concern for others was evident in her prison and pro-life ministries, and her many involvements within her beloved Catholic Faith. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Gallegos Sr., and her husband, Joe Rodriguez Jr., her parents, Duke and Alice Duquette and her brothers, Donald and Joseph. Betty Jean is survived by her son, Charles; grandchildren Charles, Elizabeth and Candace; five great- grandchildren; and her beloved sister Nanette, brother, Glen, and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be posted on Face Book by Betty Jean's son, Charles Gallegos.
