Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Carmichael, 88 of Las Cruces Died Monday February 8, 2010. He was born April 11, 1921 in Osaka, Virginia. Ben graduated high school in Rogersville, Tennessee, attended the University of Missouri and graduated from McCook Junior College in McCook, Nebraska. Mr. Carmichael joined the United States Army in 1942, he won four Bronze Battle Stars and his Unit was awarded the Presidential Citation for outstanding performance of duty in action. After Honorably serving his country in WWII, Ben was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation, Job Core and Pillsbury Mills. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for 55 years and held many offices in various lodges. Mr. Carmichael is survived by his wife Norma of the family home, three sons, two granddaughters, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Visitations will be held on Thursday February 11, 2010 and Friday February 12, 2010 from 5-7 each day at Getz Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Masonic Cemetery on Saturday February 13, 2010 at 11 AM with Full Military Honors. PDF Printable Version
