Belinda A. Martinez It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Belinda (Bindy) A. Martinez, 52, of Las Cruces New Mexico. She was ushered into Our Lord Father's Arms surrounded by her loving and devoted family and friends, on June 10th, 2022. Belinda was born in Las Cruces, NM to Arturo Hernandez and Gloria Hernandez on August 10th, 1969. She was raised by her mom, Gloria, and stepdad (Grampa), Albert Hernandez. She graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1987 and was proud to be a Bull Dawg. Belinda enjoyed dancing, singing, trivia games, her pets, sports, especially her beloved Dallas Cowboys. She had a sly sense of humor and loved to laugh. Belinda was a great mother, wife, gramma, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Her biggest loves and joys were spending time with her family. Her family always took precedence. As her boys grew up, her priority was to be present and active in their academic and athletic life. She was an involved parent. She supported their activities by watching, fundraising, and becoming a booster member. One of her greatest joys was becoming a Gramma. She loved her grandson, Orion Juniper Martinez. He was her world. She loved playing and spending time with him. Belinda was a very strong and positive person. She never complained about being sick. She took her illness head on. She fought extremely hard against cancer for two and a half years. She never backed down from the battle. She was grateful for every passing day of life. She knew every day was a gift and blessing. She rejoiced and embraced every new day with both hands. She worked at TMC Design/LinQuest as Administrative Division Manager. Belinda worked at TMC Design for a span of 18 years, this June 7th, 2022. In that time, she was involved and responsible for many aspects of the business: Security, Contracting, Purchasing and her biggest passion - Accounting. She always strived for self-improvement. She obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting and was working on her CPA Certification. She also obtained her CPCM Certification - Certified Professional Contract Manager. She was a considerate and generous mentor, she loved sharing her knowledge with others. She was an extremely hard worker and would not stop until the job was done. She refused to leave her position despite her illness. She didn't want to "abandon" the team despite the physical hardships her ailments caused. She is preceded in death by her dad Albert Hernandez, her godfather Francisco "Frank" Gabriel Avalos (Nino), her mother in law Amelia Sanchez, Epigmena Marquez (Aunt) and her beloved pet, Scrappy. Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband, Frank Martinez, her sons, Daniel Martinez (Yesenia) and Eugenio (Gino) Martinez (Paulina), her grandson Orion Juniper Martinez. Her loving mother, Gloria Hernandez of Las Cruces, NM. Her younger brothers, Art Hernandez (Heather) of Frisco, TX., and Daniel Hernandez (Mina) of San Antonio, TX. Her nieces and nephews, Ariana Hernandez, Lexi Hernandez, Mikel Hernandez, Josh Hernandez, Braden Bleu Hernandez, Damian Sanchez, Desire and Memory Sanchez She will be mourned and missed by family and many, many friends. Visitation for Belinda will begin at 1:30 PM Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave. Las Cruces NM 88001, where the Rosary is scheduled for 2:30 PM and the Holy Mass of Resurrection will follow. For those that may not be able to join us, the service will be live-streamed.
