Audie F. Sanders

Audie F. Sanders, 89, of Las Cruces, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007. She was born March 13, 1917 in Frost, TX to Cody and Mamie Cook Bigbie. Audie had been a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was well known for her many years of being involved with politics here in Las Cruces, but her passion was for arts and crafts and her family. She will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her four sons Richard Sanders and wife Bonnie, Wade Sanders and companion Dawna Chavez, Shane Sanders and wife Ida and Kim Sanders and companion Tina Teal all of Las Cruces; granddaughters Traci Tibbs and husband Mark and Shannon Sanders all of Las Cruces; sister Erlene Jones of Dallas, TX. Also surviving Audie are many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Sanders; great-grandson Aidan Tibbs and by 3 brothers. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, Jan.17, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home. Audie's funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 also at Getz Funeral Home with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard, Wade, Shane and Kim Sanders, Mark Tibbs and Raul Vargas. PDF Printable Version
