Ashley Dawn Goins

Ashley Dawn Goins entered eternal life at the age of 34 when she passed away of Esophageal Cancer on April 8th, 2023, in Las Cruces, NM. She was born on January 18th, 1989, in Las Cruces to Steve and Shirley Goins. She was an amazing, beautiful, resilient, wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher and best friend.



In her younger years she loved spending time with her family, especially going on Disney vacations and her favorite movie was The Little Mermaid. While growing up she learned to cook German food from her mom (Shirley), Oma, and adopted Grandma Chrissy. She developed a love of growing her own vegetables and became quite a gardener. Ashley was a very creative person also. One of her favorite things to do was paint. She would paint with her children often and would enjoy every minute of it. She also had many friends in life, but Melissa Padilla was her lifelong best friend.



She graduated from Las Cruces High and went on to graduate from NMSU with honors. She was on the Dean's List and got her bachelor's degree in education. She was an Educational Assistant at Jornada Elementary and upon graduation became a Pre-K teacher at Valley View Elementary.



On June 12th, 2021, she married the love of her life, Tony Ginanni. Their Aladdin themed fairytale wedding was held in the mountains overlooking Ouray, Colorado. Their honeymoon took them to Utah, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Arizona. They visited National Parks, and many places along Historic Route 66. Of the places Ashley had never seen before, her favorite was Yellowstone.



In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, hiking, and seeing new things with her family. One thing she really wanted to do was 50 states by the time she was 50, which would be continued in her honor by her family. One of her favorite places to travel was to Knotts Berry Farm. She also loved going on walks with the family dogs, Mazzy, Dodger, and Moose in Boots.



Ashley was a wonderful person who made everything special. She had a special talent for taking simple events and making great memories for everyone. She was one-of-a-kind when it came to kindness and gentleness. She will always be remembered for those simple gestures by everyone whose hearts she touched.



She is survived by her husband Tony, daughter Analisa, son Andrew, her parents Steve and Shirley Goins, and adopted Grandma Chrissy. She was preceded in death by her sister Melanie, Grandmother Oma, Grandma Claudie, Grandpa Buddy, and Adopted Grandfather Calvin, and one of her best friends Jacinta.



A viewing for Ashley will be on April 28th, 2023, at Getz Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on April 29th, 2023 at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Masonic Cemetery at a later date.
