Arturo Guerrero

June 27, 1950 — November 18, 2016

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Arturo "Jerry" Guerrero, 66, of Dona Ana entered eternal life to be with our Heavenly Father following a yearlong battle to liver cancer, Friday November 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Arturo, Jerry, as he was loving known, was born June 27, 1950 to Roman and Anita Guerrero. Jerry was a graduate of Mayfield high school, and joined the United States Army following graduation. On his return, he married his wife of 42 years on November 9, 1974. Retired from the New Mexico Department of Agriculture in January of 2011. During his employment with NMDA, he completed his Associate degree. During his free time and after retirement, he spent his time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His happiness was supporting them, and watching them play sports. Those left to mourn him are his Mother, Anita Guerrero, his loving wife, Martha De la o Guerrero of Dona Ana, New Mexico, Son, Francisco "Frankie", wife, Natalie Guerrero, Daughters, Vanessa Guerrero and Elena, spouse Johnny Padilla. Grandchildren, Nicholas, Victoria, Santiago, Eric, Daniel and Jacob Guerrero, Isabelle and Jonathon Padilla. Other survivors include four brothers and a sister, Henry (Andrea) Guerrero of El Cajon, California, Roman (Sylvia) Guerrero of El Cajon, California, Michael (Nellie) Guerrero of Tucson, Arizona, Bernardo "Bernie" (Yvette) Guerrero of La Mesa, New Mexico and Celia (Raymond) Rodriguez of San Ysidro, New Mexico, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roman Guerrero and three brothers, Felix, Luis and Francisco Guerrero. Recitation of the Holy Rosary and funeral mass will be held the same day, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey St. Dona Ana, New Mexico. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
