Armando Cardenas

Sgt. Armando P. (AC) Cardenas went home to our heavenly father Sunday December 10, 2017 in Las Cruces, NM. He was Born October 26, 1953 in Silver City, NM to Marcos and Felipa Cardenas. He is preceded in death by his parents Father Cpl. Marcos S. Cardenas and his Mother Felipa P. Cardenas, his sister Alvenita Cardenas, his brother Henry P. Cardenas, Two nephews Eugene Cardenas jr. and Esteban Diaz, and Uncle Luis Polanco. He served 17 proud years in the U.S. Army/Army National Guard and spent another 14 years working at Autozone until his retirement in 2008. He was a devoted Catholic and used to attend Our Lady Of Health Catholic Church, many people around town fondly knew him as "AC" if you ever had to go down to Autozone for parts. He enjoyed playing the guitar and dancing, riding motorcycles and horse back riding. And he enjoyed the company of family and friends. He was also a die-hard fan for the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his only daughter Antonia A. Cardenas and Fianc Jerry Fleming, his only granddaughter Margie Armanda Hejmanowski and her husband Scott, and his grandson James Fleming. He is also survived by his only sister Virginia Cardenas. His very good friend Margie Avelar and her companion Robert Hofmo, and his brother from another mother Stanley Santana. Pallbearers will be Sgt. James M. Cardenas, Stanley Santana, Jerry Fleming, Scott R. Hejmanowski, Adrian Cowan and Doyle Fleming, and Honorary Pallbearers will be SFC Ernesto R. Diaz , Tyler and Emily Eaton, , Ryan Libby, and In Loving Memory Honorary Pall bearer Patrick James (Niko) Bailey. Second Visitation
