Armando C. Orozco (Mando), 77, passed away July 25, 2015, with his family by his side in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born September 23, 1937, in Redford, Texas to Antonio and Petra Orozco. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1957. On April 5, 1975 he married Bertha Bustamante in El Paso, Texas. Armando was a self-employed carpenter. If you asked, he would build it or fix it. He built a few of the houses in which he lived. He served in the Army National Guard from which he was honorably discharged. Armando, after serving his country, served his customers when he owned a restaurant and bakery in Van Horn, Texas for a while. He loved to make pit barbeque. When it was chile season, you could find him out in the fields picking his own chile and then roasting it out on his grill. He loved family gatherings and making hamburgers for everyone. Armando adored his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and teaching them things. Armando is survived by his wife, Bertha, daughter Celina Jackson and her husband Ian, Las Cruces; three sisters, Consuelo Rodriguez, Salinas, California; Francis Hernandez and husband Mayo, Artesia, NM, and Angelita Aguilar and husband Frank, Odessa, Texas; one brother, Jose Orozco; two grandchildren, Noah and Savannah Jackson, Las Cruces, NM; and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his babies, Belinda and Armando Jr. Orozco; his parents, Antonio and Petra Orozco; and a brother, Gilberto Orozco A Prayer vigil will be held at 9:30 am Wednesday July 29, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the funeral service to follow. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as Pallbearers; Eddie Rodriguez, Estevan Orozco, David Hernandez, Ian Jackson, Buck Rodriguez and Marc McClure, honorary pallbearer will be Noah Jackson and Sonny Gonzalez.
