Anthony G. Sepulveda

On May 3, 2011 the city of Las Cruces, NM lost one of its finest. It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts the Sepulveda family announces the passing of their son, father, brother and fellow Las Cruces Police Officer Anthony Sepulveda. He was born on July 2, 1974 to Antonio and Norma Sepulveda in Silver City, NM. Anthony had a great passion for life, whether it was playing golf, riding bikes, swimming, playing softball or protecting the community he always put his heart into it. His true love was spending time with his daughters, he enjoyed seeing them smile when he taught them something new and was always there when they needed a shoulder to lean on. Anthony is survived by his parents, daughters Alexis Sepulveda and Alivia Fabro, of Las Cruces, NM; sisters, Sonia Sepulveda of Albuquerque, NM and Ana Sepulveda of Hurley, NM and niece Aujanae Dominguez of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving him is Sonia Fabro, his longtime friend, confidant, and mother of his two beautiful daughters. Holding a special place in his heart is Sonia's mother Marla Ridgway who Anthony proudly called "Grandma". Waiting for Anthony with open arms at the golden gates of heaven are both of his grandparents and his uncle, Blas Sepulveda. Anthony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home with a prayer vigil to follow at 7 pm in Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with Fr. Ray Flores as celebrant. The rite of committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers Anthony's family has set up an education fund for his daughters at Wells Fargo Bank under Alexis Sepulveda Account # 9220538566. Pallbearers will be the Las Cruces Police Department Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dave and Chris Jaramillo, Joshua, Miguel, and Richard Dominguez, Ruben and Gabriel Herrera, Eric Urenda, Lacie Padgett, Shane Horcasitas, Michael Alirez, Danny Ortiz, Las Cruces Police Department, Las Cruces Fire Department, Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department, New Mexico State Police and E.M.S.
