Annabelle Lindley

Annabelle "Sim" Lindley, died December 10, 2016 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was 82 years of age. She was born October 23, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, to John Yee and Anna Lee Lun Chong Sisters Betty Cohn and Elenor Young and 1 brother Albert Yee. She was married May 24, 1954 in Havre de Grace, Maryland to Jearl Ray Lindley She is a graduate of San Mateo High School, San Mateo California in 1952, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served until 1954. She attended Hardin Simmons University from 1955 to 1956, New Mexico State University from 1957 to 1960 where she studied chemistry. She was supervisor of the pediatric blood coagulation research laboratory at the University of Colorado School of Medicine from 1960 to 1967 and supervisor of the pediatric blood coagulation research laboratory at the Abraham Lincoln College of Medicine of the University of Illinois from 1967 to 1972 where she co-authored 16 peer reviewed publications. In 1972 she returned to the University of Colorado School of Medicine until 1973. Her hobbies included gardening, where she was rumored to be able to grow pencils if she put them in the ground, flying her plane called"Pumpkin", playing Mah Jong with friends and family, world travelling, putting together jig-saw puzzles, raising and showing Welsh Corgis and German Shepherds, hunting and marksmanship with her husband, cooking Chinese cuisine and Mexican food and raising her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ, donated to the Humane Society. She was listed among the Outstanding Young Woman in America, 1968, she was a pilot and was a member of the 99s, which is an exclusive organization of women pilots. Sim is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jearl R. Lindley, her daughters Katheryn Lee of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Carolyn McMahon of North Carolina and 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her father, mother, and brother, and her sister Betty predeceased Sim. Her son Michael Andrew Lindley also predeceased her on December 3, 2000. Services for Sim will be on Saturday December 17, 2016 in Las Cruces with interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full military honrs . Officiating will be by Minister Al Maxey of Alamogordo.
