Anna Montano

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anna E. Montano. Anna passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Fairacres, NM, at the age of 49. Anna was born June 12, 1973 to Gloria Thomen and Robert Montano. A beloved mother, friend, daughter, sister and aunt, who will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Anna was a lifelong resident of Las Cruces and a graduate of Las Cruces High. Anna was heavily involved in 4-H, both as a member during her youth and a leader during her adult years. She was part of the farming community in Fairacres, NM, after she took over the pecan farm she grew up on when her grandmother passed away in 2015. Anna enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, going to the farmers market, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. She was a loving and devoted mother to her only child, Briana Montano and she loved her fur baby and grand fur babies dearly. Anna had a larger than life personality, a great sense of humor and she loved deeply. She touched the lives of many people during her short time on earth. Anna is survived by her daughter, Briana Montano, best friend Lisa Flenniken, both of Las Cruces, NM. Her father Robert Montano and stepmother Dorothy Montano, both of Santa Fe, NM, her mother Gloria Thomen and stepfather Richard Thomen, her sister Lindsay Cano of Las Cruces and her brother Philip Montano of Rio Rancho, NM. Anna was preceded in death by her grandparents Ophelia and Reyes Chavez and Sixta and Cecil Montano. Services for Anna will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2pm at Getz funeral home, 1410 E Bowman Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
