Angelita Garcia

April 13, 1929 — February 3, 2023

On February 3, 2023, Angie D, Garcia, loving mother of two, passed away at age ninety-three. Her door was always open to family and friends and her care and generosity were evident in the stories she shared with anyone that stopped by. She greeted her loved ones with a big hug and a smile. she retired from Dillard's Department Store, at the age of 80, and was highly regarded by everyone she worked with. Her favorite place to be was outside pampering her plants and flowers. She often was asked "who takes care of your immaculate yard?" to which she proudly replied, "I do". She is remembered fondly by family members for her willingness to care for their children when they were in a bind and allowing them to live with her while they attended college. Angie proudly cooked for her family and friends. Her specialty was red chili, beans, and homemade tortillas. Our favorite memories include sitting with her at the dinner table while she told stories about her sisters and brothers., Her laugh was infectious, and she had a great sense of humor. She was best known for her work-ethic, independence, and generous spirit. She is survived by her daughter, Leticia Leyva and husband Hector Leyva, her son, David Garcia and wife Liz Garcia, Five grandchildren (Briana, Orlando, Gaby, Kate and Samuel) and four great-grandchildren (Ayanna, Michael, Liam and Colton). She is predeceased by her husband for 37 years, Theodore Garcia
