Alfred Paul Trujillo

Our family is saddened to announce that our father, brother, and grandfather, Alfred "Al" Trujillo passed away at his home July 28, 2023, in Las Cruces, NM at the age of 74.

He was born in Silver City, NM on December 15, 1948, as the first of four born to Gorgonio "George" and Elvira Trujillo (ne Montao). The family moved to Las Cruces where he attended school. After graduating Las Cruces High School, he joined the Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. Upon his discharge he married Martha Trujillo (ne Nieto) and graduated from UNM with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts. They had four children Paul, Jacob, Theresa, and Donald Trujillo.

He worked for Mountain Bell/Qwest and was transferred to Las Cruces. He served his community as a coach for Bantam Weight and LCABC leagues. After retiring he served as a teaching assistant in the LCPS vocational and building trades. He was an aspiring movie extra. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working, and being a superb grandfather.

He was preceded by his father Gorgonio (Mar. 4, 1991), Mother Elvira (Apr. 21, 2022), two sisters Velma Sievert (Nov. 22, 2000), Anita Munn (Sept. 5, 1989), and nephew Duane Collette (Jan. 20, 2002). He is survived by his brother John "Jack" Trujillo, his 4 children, his 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Padilla, Nicolas "Nico", Sarah, Jacob "Jack", Xtopher, Michael, and Lillian Trujillo, his nephew Latson and niece Jacqueline Munn.

A public viewing will be held at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM on Thursday, August 17th at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. A reception is to follow the rosary. The location will be announced at the rosary. His memorial service with military honors will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Friday, August 18th at 10:00 a.m. Per his wishes he will be laid to rest the same afternoon at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery in Santa Clara, NM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers: Nicholas Trujillo, Sarah Trujillo, Jacob "Jack" Trujillo, Xtopher Trujillo, Latson Munn, Jonathan Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers: Patricio Torres, Felipe Montoya.
