Alejandro 'Alex' Sanchez

August 21, 2007 in Odessa, TX. Alex was born December 31, 1971, in Las Cruces, NM to Jose and Magdalena Sanchez. He graduated from Onate High School where he played quarter back for the Knights. Alex was a lover of all things sports, especially football and working out at the gym. He was always ready to cheer on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Alex was a big-hearted man, who loved life, and was always willing to help someone in need. He enjoyed picking on his brothers and wrestling with his children or any of the many children he would willingly take care of. Alex attended school for culinary arts and loved to cook. He was a hard worker that loved his job and working in the field. Alex is survived by his parents, Jose and Magdalena, of the family home, Three sons, Isaac Lopez and Andres Sanchez, both of Odessa, TX, Dominic Sanchez, of Chaparral, NM, four daughters, Alyxea Rodriguez and Neve Rodriguez, of Las Cruces, NM, Joi Sanchez and Zoi Sanchez, of Odessa, TX, two brothers, Javier Sanchez, of Las Cruces, Martin Sanchez, of Austin, TX, three sisters, Irma Rios, of Odessa, TX, Josie Rivera and Virginia Sanchez, both of Las Cruces, NM, maternal grandparents, Jose and Carmen Ibanez, of Las Cruces, NM. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Vicente and Margarita Conterras. A Visitation will take place on Monday, August 27, 2007 from 5 to 6 PM at Getz Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. The funeral Mass for Alex will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Enrique Lopez officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
