Agnes Todd Stroup, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Born to Mary and Ralph Todd in March of 1944.Angie spent her early years, with her family, at various military installations.
She was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority for many years and continued as an advisor for many years. After graduating from NMSU with a degree in Sociology Angie went to work for the State, and then for a private home health care agency. She also became a thriving member of the NMSU Alumni Association, earning the James F. Cole award for service. A dedicated social worker for those in need, making a lasting impact on countless lives through her compassionate service.
Agnes is survived by her beloved husband, Marcus Stroup; her sons, Robert Stroup and James Stroup; and her sister, Carolynn Henry. Her legacy of kindness and commitment to helping others will always be remembered by her family, friends, and all those who knew her.
Angie is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Ellen Todd, and one daughter Kathleen Stroup.
A graveside service will take place at Masonic Cemetery, on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299E. Montana Ave. Las Cruces, NM 88005.
